1. Commitment to Net Zero

Blake Office Supplies Ltd is fully committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2040.

As a small supplier with only 3 employees, our absolute emissions are very low, but we take our environmental responsibility seriously and are determined to reach Net Zero well ahead of the UK’s 2050 national target.

2. Baseline and Current Emissions

Because of our small size and home/remote-working model, we have no company-owned premises or fleet.

3. Emissions Reduction Targets

We commit to:

Reduce absolute emissions by 50% by 2030 (from 2023/24 baseline)
Reach Net Zero by 2040

4. Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

Switched all home-office electricity contracts to 100% renewable tariff (Jan 2024)
Moved to a paperless office – all invoices and quotes are electronic
Only use rail or EV/hybrid hire cars for any site visits (no flights since 2022)
Default to DPD / Royal Mail carbon-neutral delivery options for all NHS orders
All three staff use laptops with Energy Star rating and enable power-saving modes
Require our main distributors to provide product carbon footprint data where available

5. Future Carbon Reduction Projects (2025–2028)

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and meets the required reporting for suppliers with turnover below £50m and fewer than 50 employees.

The reported emissions have been calculated using the UK Government GHG Conversion Factors 2024 and SME simplified methodology.
